Normaling the Weird - Treadmill

One piece of technology that I find weird is the treadmill. We turn on this machine and run (or walk) in place for our desired amount of time or distance. You run, but don’t go anywhere. I would normalize it by changing the length and shape of the machine so that when your run/walk, you also go a distance. One example (that now that I think about it, is also weird) is the moving sidewalks in airports. With a moving sidewalk there’s a starting and ending point, and you’re not just running in place.

Another option would be to change the shape the treadmill to a circle. This way there’s still a clear starting and ending point, and you’re not standing in place.
